This is clever and it took a bit of time to figure out the pathology. But there is one, and it’s interesting.
This approach is obviously personalized to the owner/manager of a commercial Internet brand and hints at risk to our online trademark (miproconsulting) due to a foreign application being made for our trademark name in country-specific flavors (.asia, .biz, .cc, .cn, .com. cn., .hk, etc.). Being the nice foreign domain registrar they are, the sender of this message, SK Holdings, is asking us if we want to do business with them and secure all of the miproconsulting variants listed below so that we can protect our Internet brand from this foreign applicant.
Isn’t it nice that someone halfway across the globe is looking out for our best interests? Makes me want to do business with them right away.
There are many versions of this floating around the web, most of which have Chinese senders. Seems they’re really advancing their pretexting game. Hooray.

Yap, got an email exactly the same as the original poster.
We registered the domain which we had missed out through our usual supplier and then responded to the email thanking them for letting us know.
Guess what? The person named “Tracy” responded with a F*** word.
Also, the email appeared to come from within China rather than from Hong Kong.

here comes some new input on this spam/fraud:
I replied to those crooks to see what they are up to. I knew right away that it is fraud, since I own several domains and websites and received the first email with the international property rights blabla for two domains similarly.
If you reply, you will receive an email saying that they are more than happy to register the trademark and domains for you along with a warning that if you do not reply within 14 days, they will register all domains and internet trademark for the fantasy company they included in your first email. Unfortunately I deleted that email already – sorry for that

And this is the email you will receive if you are not answering those #$%kers to their reply email. This will most likely scare the shit out of any website/domain owner who is unaware of the fact that they are crooks. Fearing a dispute about his/her domain name, they will most likely ask these smartasses to register an internet trademark:

Wow, lucky that I have read this site. Very information. Initially when my company a similar emails as all else, I was started to panic. I called (TradeMark, Web Designer, Programmer) people and ask if they have heard of “Internet Intellectual Property”. All said “none”.
I feel more relieve after reading this site. I think everyone should take a group action and put this stupid company and the sender out of action.

We got this message Friday afternoon. I was placed in charge of investigating this for our company. It is a real scam! They hope that the average business will not check to see that it is a scam. Here is what the body of their letter said:
