Know what did it for me?  Reading McCarthy&#039;s &#039;The Road&#039; woke me back up to the sound and shape and edges of words.  It&#039;s a piece of fiction, but some of the writing borders on poetry.

These days, it takes some work to get back to what I used to notice firsthand all the time.  IMHO, it&#039;s a worthwhile pursuit.</description>
