Matthew Haavisto writes:

There are some new features coming in PeopleTools 8.52 that will make creating and managing Feeds in PeopleSoft easier and more useful. This is provided through several enhancements to the Feed Publishing Framework.

Namely, PeopleTools 8.52 will offer:

Feed Publishing Wizard

Feed Templates

Feeds as Managed Objects

Feed Personalization

Much more detail here, presented very coherently. We’ve been covering PeopleTools 8.52 a lot recently, and as you can see, there’s we have plenty of reasons to. It’s going to be a great upgrade.

Good find by Matthew Haavisto over on Oracle’s PeopleSoft Technology Blog:

I recently had an opportunity to work through a copy of a new book for PeopleTools developers and thought it might be of interest to the readers of the PeopleTools blog. It is called PeopleSoft PeopleTools Tips & Techniques, and was written by Jim Marion, a long-time Oracle employee we often recruit to deliver the very popular and highly regarded conference sessions of the same title.

This book is not for the beginner and doesn’t contain much introductory material. Instead, it’s for the more experienced PeopleSoft developer looking to maximize the efficiency and productivity of their PeopleSoft applications. Throughout the book Jim offers proven methods and best practices he’s worked with personally.

PeopleTools 8.51 opened up so many doors for advanced functionality, most notably along Java, Ajax and Web 2.0 features (UI, iScripts, etc.). Marion’s book seems like an advanced guidebook for those looking to get the most out of their PeopleSoft applications.

The book is available on MH Professional as well as Amazon. (Gets very good reviews, too.)

UPDATE: Official press release is live here.

I’m going to preempt our official press release by a few hours and announce something we’ve been working on with our partner, Citagus.

We have had a massive influx in inquiries and blog hits about PeopleTools 8.5, and we hear from conference feedback that PeopleTools 8.5 sessions are absolutely packed. The general consensus is that PeopleTools 8.5 is simply amazing.

This new release of tools is full of highly-anticipated enhancements, especially from user experience, GUI and reporting perspectives. With the advent of PeopleSoft 9.1 applications, companies are looking to bring their PeopleTools implementations up to date as quickly as possible.

We’re talking to a lot of clients who say they could benefit tremendously from the new release of PeopleTools, but their teams are already allocated on other projects. To a large degree, that’s a product of the recession and how businesses have had to cope. More than once we have heard that they would love a low-risk, high-value, affordable way to upgrade PeopleTools that doesn’t pull their technical teams off existing projects.

Beginning today, we’re proud to announce that, through a strategic partnership with Citagus, we are able to provide a packaged service to organizations looking to upgrade their PeopleTools implementations. Our solution-center approach carries a fixed-fee price beginning at only $9,900 and is designed to last six weeks. It’s low-risk, has quick time-to-value and most importantly leaves your project teams uninterrupted.

We’re anticipating a good deal of interest in this. If you’re interested in learning more, download our PDF datasheet (below) or email us if you want to find out if this service is right for your business.
