AAA Michigan

AAA was founded over 100 years ago for the purpose of lobbying for driver and passenger rights, fair laws and safer vehicles — all to better promote the love of the open road and the adventure of driving. Since then, AAA has grown to over 50 million members strong, while providing valuable membership services such as roadside assistance. Additionally, AAA has broadened its horizons to include all types of travel-related services, as well as offer a variety of insurance and financial products and services.
 
In addition to MIPRO optimizing AAA’s PeopleSoft eProcurement application and  setting up a new vendor on the eProcurement Direct Connect punch-out system, AAA took advantage of MIPRO’s PeopleTools 8.5 Upgrade packaged service.  This fixed fee, lab approach to a PeopleTools upgrade provided AAA with the new functionality and capabilities of the latest toolset from Oracle.

Amerisure Insurance

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company is one of the nation’s leading regional property and casualty insurance companies. Since 1912 Amerisure has provided services to mid-sized commercial enterprises in manufacturing, construction and healthcare across the United States.
 
MIPRO’s relationship with Amerisure started in a very interesting fashion.  Amerisure evaluated companies to assist them their PeopleSoft 8.9 GL and AP applications.  While MIPRO was said to have the most comprehensive RFP response and experience, Amerisure selected a vendor who thought they could perform the project with fewer resources and in a shorter timeframe.
 
Halfway through the engagement Amerisure contacted MIPRO requesting our services and expertise to help them get the project back on track.  Not only was MIPRO pleased to assist, but they honored the discounted full project rates quoted originally, even for this smaller segment.
 
Since that first interface MIPRO has been asked back to assist Amerisure with implementing, upgrading and optimizing other PeopleSoft applications.

Genesys Health System is a group of affiliated medical campuses, outpatient centers, primary care locations and ancillary health care organizations committed to improving the health of patients and the community.  As a member of Ascension Health, Genesys is anchored by a state-of-the-art inpatient facility located in mid-Michigan and more than 140 family physicians in their network acting as health advocates providing a number of resources to a wide variety of patients.
 
MIPRO Consulting has provided multiple resources to Genesys since 2010, including Project Management and technical resources on numerous projects.  During that time, MIPRO has delivered support on Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management and Financial Management Solutions projects.

MIPRO Consulting was engaged in 2013 to provide technical resources to enhance an interface between PeopleSoft Payroll and a non-PeopleSoft GL system.  The outcome of this successful project was that A. T. Kearney can now take advantage of PeopleSoft Payroll functionality that was heretofore unavailable to them.

BDO Seidman

For over 100 years BDO has provided professional services in the areas of assurance, tax, financial advisory and consulting to a wide range of publicly traded and privately held companies.  As a long-term PeopleSoft customer, BDO has faced the challenge of upgrading the applications several times.  MIPRO was initially engaged in 2006 to provide consulting support for the implementation of AR/Billing.  In 2008, MIPRO was again engaged to provide support for the PeopleSoft applications.  The engagement started with an upgrade workshop for the planned upgrade from HCM v8.3 to v9.0.  Subsequent to the Upgrade Workshop, MIPRO provided resources to support the technical aspects of the upgrade.
 
Again in April 2008, MIPRO was engaged to provide technical leadership and guidance for the planned upgrade of Financials from v8.8 to v9.1.   As part of this process, MIPRO conducted several planning workshops and provided guidance to the BDO during the upgrade.
 
MIPRO’s most recent engagement was in July 2010 where MIPRO provided a consulting resource to support a variety of technical efforts on the financials applications.  This work included a mix of customizations and reporting.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSAL), the largest provider of healthcare benefits in Alabama, engaged MIPRO Consulting to perform a system upgrade from PeopleSoft 8.9 that would boost critical business processes like recruiting, HR and payroll. BCBSAL also wanted to eliminate customizations wherever possible.
 
MIPRO performed a full system upgrade to PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 and PeopleTools 8.52, simultaneously performing a fit-gap analysis to determine what customizations could be eliminated. The MIPRO team also applied Profile Management to enhance HR functionality, and automate several processes related to  Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) functionality within the PeopleSoft Payroll module.
 
The project achieved a successful, seamless go-live after stringent testing led by MIPRO, allowing employees to tap into additional functionality that has streamlined workflow and decreased the cost of system maintenance for BCBSAL

Calpine Corporation

Founded in 1984, Calpine is a major U.S. power company, capable of delivering approximately 28,000 megawatts of clean, cost-effective, reliable and fuel-efficient electricity to customers and communities in 20 states in the U.S. and Canada. The company owns, leases and operates low-carbon, natural gas-fired and renewable geothermal power plants.
 
Calpine engaged MIPRO to optimize the use of their PeopleSoft 9.1 FSCM products.  The primary project objective was to help Calpine better leverage the use of their Project Costing, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Asset Management modules to accumulate all transaction related data related to Calpine’s various project types.

Children’s Hospital of Colorado

Founded in 1908 in Denver, Children’s Hospital Colorado has seen, treated and healed more children than any other hospital in their seven-state region. The hospital employs nearly 2,000 pediatric specialists and more than 5,000 full-time employees helping to carry out their mission of improving the health of children through high-quality patient care, research, education and advocacy.

MIPRO Consulting was engaged to upgrade their PeopleSoft Financials from version 8.9 to 9.2.  With MIPRO’s help, the hospital sought to take advantage of the improved functionality of 9.2 and reduce the level of customization within their system wherever possible.

Chrysler

Since 1925 Chrysler has been a mainstay in Detroit designing and manufacturing automobiles commonly known as one of the “big three” auto makers.  Chrysler has been using PeopleSoft HCM since the early 1990s.
 
MIPRO has engaged with Chrysler multiple times over the years, most recently assisting with the global roll out and implementation of the PeopleSoft HCM module ePerformance.   MIPRO also conducted upgrade workshops related to Chryslers move from 8.9 HCM.

City of Fort Worth

With bragging rights to be where the West began, the City of Fort Worth has a population of more than 700,000, spans some 350 square miles in North Texas. The city has a budget of approximately $1.3 billion and is responsible for economic and workforce development, public education, transportation, and public safety.
 
MIPRO worked with the City of Fort Worth to review and optimize their use of PeopleSoft Payroll 9.1.  MIPRO helped the city classify and solve payroll related errors and provided both system and process related improvements that helped dramatically increase payroll accuracy and as a result cut down the number of individuals required to track errors.

Since being founded in 1983, Cogentrix Energy has emerged as a leader in the independent power generation market with a strong track record of developing, constructing and operating power generation units.  Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Cogentrix is focused on the acquisition and development of generating resources that meet the requirements of today’s marketplace.
 
Cogentrix engaged MIPRO Consulting to conduct implementations of PeopleSoft Financials and Asset Lifecycle Management.  Specifically, MIPRO conducted the implementation of PeopleSoft’s Maintenance Management module and led the validation of the company’s PeopleSoft Treasury implementation.

Over the years, MIPRO Consulting has assisted Corning on multiple projects, focusing on upgrading and optimization the integration between their PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Manufacturing systems.  From our initial engagement in 2011, MIPRO has provided a wide range of technical and leadership resources.  With our underlying passion for the success of our clients and the PeopleSoft product guiding our every decision, MIPRO has built a long term, mutually beneficial partnership with Corning.
 
MIPRO’s most recent engagement was in February of 2014, where MIPRO contributed functional expertise for the transition from PeopleSoft 8.0 to 9.1 for Corning’s CDT division.

Covanta Energy

Headquartered in Morristown, New Jersey, Covanta Energy is one of the world’s largest owners and operators of infrastructure for the conversion of waste-to-energy and other renewable energy projects, as well as other waste disposal and renewable energy production businesses.
 
Covanta engaged MIPRO for a two-phase PeopleSoft Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) implementation dubbed Project IMPACT. Phase I of the project involved the implementation of the Maintenance Management and Inventory modules at three pilot facilities, as well as configurations with existing modules, with Phase II rolling out the implementation to Covanta’s remaining 43 U.S.-based facilities.

Dominos

Founded in 1960, Domino’s Pizza is the recognized world leader in pizza delivery operating a network of stores in the United States and international markets spanning 9,000 corporate and franchised stores in 60 countries and all 50 U.S. states.
 
MIPRO and Domino’s relationship began unofficially in 1996 when Bernadette Sprawka, a founder of MIPRO then an Account Manager at PeopleSoft, worked with Domino’s on their initial implementation of PeopleSoft’s Financial and HCM applications.  Since the inception of MIPRO, Domino’s has reached out multiple times utilizing MIPRO’s expert PeopleSoft Financials and technical resources.

Drummond Company

Drummond is principally engaged in the business of mining, purchasing, processing and selling of coal.  The Company’s U.S. mining operations are located in Alabama. The international mining operations are located in Colombia, serving customers in both the U.S. and Europe. Drummond is the largest merchant coke producer in the U.S.
 
MIPRO was selected by Drummond to implement PeopleSoft’s Maintenance Management solution.  MIPRO’s project manager and Asset Lifecycle Management experts worked closely with the Drummond team both in Alabama and Columbia, South America.  MIPRO engaged directly with the field operations in the mines.  Drummond was MIPRO’s third ALM implementation and because of the unique conditions and location, it was MIRPO’s most unique project to date.

East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC)

Supplying energy to 511,000 homes, farms and businesses throughout East Kentucky, EKPC had reached a point where they knew they needed to make a change.   Antiquated systems and processes were making it difficult to grow.  EKPC was operating on PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain 7.5 (unsupported) and HCM 9.0 all on an Informix database.
 
After an extensive evaluation EKPC selected MIPRO to upgrade to 9.0 Financials and Supply Chain applications, implement new HCM modules, switch to an Oracle database and implement Oracle’s PeopleSoft ALM replacing their current maintenance management solution.  MIPRO engaged with EKPC in June 2009 and successfully deployed the applications on-time and within budget May 2010.
 
MIPRO coordinated the efforts of the joint customer/vendor team totaling 54 individuals.  Key roles for MIPRO included an on-site Project Manager, on-site functional leads, change management/training expertise as well as an off-shore technical resource team.  As a part of every process MIPRO included knowledge transfer to EKPC’s staff.

Ensco plc

Ensco plc brings energy to the world as a global provider of offshore drilling services to the petroleum industry.  With more than 7,000 employees operating on six continents, Ensco is the world’s second largest offshore oil and gas well drilling company.  Due to the sheer size and geographically dispersed nature of their Organization, the drilling giant sought a technology solution that would maximize their operational efficiency and increase uptime – ultimately improving their bottom line.  Ensco engaged MIPRO Consulting for a two-phase Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) implementation that would not only allow them to achieve their primary objectives, but help maintain regulatory compliance as well.
 
During the first phase, MIPRO worked with Ensco to identify foundational data including more than 300 business requirements.  That first phase included a pilot of PeopleSoft ALM 9.1 and a mobile solution to validate functionality in an offshore environment.
 
In Phase 2, MIPRO is expanding the ALM implementation into a full-scale deployment, integrating asset management, general ledger, inventory, purchasing, project costing and human resource management.  MIPRO is also working internally to perform extensive knowledge transfer through exhaustive end-user training.
 
Ensco and MIPRO are already seeing promising results, including enhanced efficiencies resulting from the integration of critical business units.  The implementation of a full-scale ALM system will help the company eliminate downtime and maximize efficiencies while ensuring adherence to compliance regulations.

ITC Holdings (ITC)

ITC Holdings, a long-time PeopleSoft customer, enlisted MIPRO Consulting for their HCM upgrade project from PeopleSoft 9.0 to 9.1.  The upgrade afforded ITC with an opportunity to refine the configuration and enhance business processes associated with their HCM implementation, with a specific focus on Benefits Administration, Payroll and Recruiting.
 
An acquisition bringing 750 new employees to ITC accelerated the timeline of the project to ensure that all systems were operational and that ITC could provide the same level of self service that the acquired employee community was used to.  After conducting a BluePrint session to clearly define project expectations, objectives and a risk mitigation strategy, MIPRO proceeded with the functional and technical upgrade to version 9.1.
 
The MIPRO team focused on meeting the objectives defined in the BluePrint session and worked collaboratively with ITC to meet the aggressive timeline.  Thanks to MIPRO’s passion for PeopleSoft and dedication to doing the right thing, ITC was not only fully prepared for their new employees, but had a greater understanding of the ‘why’ behind how their system was configured—enabling the company to optimize business processes and make informed business decisions.

Jefferson County Public Schools (Jeffco)

Jeffco is the largest school districts in Colorado and ranks as the 35th largest in the United States.  With more than 14,000 employees, Jeffco has 152 schools located over 777 square miles.  Wanting to continue to gain more value from their Oracle PeopleSoft applications, Jeffco focused their attention to the challenges they were experiencing with their legacy Maintenance Management solution.
 
The work order system for managing maintenance, both preventive and break-fix, was experiencing challenges in terms of scheduling, procurement, inventory, and cost accounting.  Couple this with a lack of integration with the PeopleSoft financials application and there was real opportunity for functionality improvements as well as cost reductions.
 
In July of 2010, Jeffco selected MIPRO to lead a three-phase implementation of the Oracle PeopleSoft ALM solution.  The first phase addresses improving maintenance management while fully integrating to the PeopleSoft financials installation.

Kelly Services

Kelly Services is a Fortune 500 company offering services that include temporary staffing, outsourcing, vendor on-site and full-time placement. Kelly Services operates in 37 countries and employs more than 530,000 individuals annually, in areas including office services, accounting, engineering, information technology, law, science, marketing, creative services, light industrial, education, and health care.
 
With Kelly Services’ dedication to continuously improving their customer’s experience, they embarked on a project to automate many back-office processes utilizing some of PeopleSoft’s financial applications as well as Payroll.  Kelly Services led and staffed the overall project team while MIPRO provided key implementation resources throughout the project.  At one point MIPRO had five resources engaged with the Kelly Services project team.

Kiewit

Kiewit is the #1 contractor for large scale highways, bridges, hydro dams, underground tunnels, commercial buildings, power generation plants, water treatment facilities, transmission lines and railroads. For over 125 years Kiewit’s 14,000+ employees have delivered world-class solutions to projects throughout the United States and Canada of every size, in every market.
 
Kiewit was looking to get more from their PeopleSoft HCM applications.  MIPRO was asked to complement Kiewit’s team to implement ePerformance, Enterprise Learning Management, Stock Administration, eBenefits, Absence Management and Manager Self Service.
 
Kiewit provided project management and key subject matter experts.  MIPRO, in addition to PeopleSoft product expertise, helped define business processes, recommended industry best practices and supported all project activities including fit gap sessions, configuration, testing planning and execution, and training development.

Learning Care Group (LCG)

LCG provides early education and care services to children between the ages of six weeks and 12 years under its umbrella of brands: The Children’s Courtyard, Childtime Learning Centers, La Petite Academy, Montessori and Tutor Time Child Care/Learning Centers.  With more than 1,100 schools with a capacity to serve to 166,000 children
 
MIPRO has assisted LCG in multiple areas over the past five years.  That assistance has included implementations, upgrades and optimizations ranging from providing a single resource for a specific objective to leading and staffing an entire project team for larger engagements.  MIPRO has helped LCG through a smooth transition of their newly acquired business units, worked with LCG’s financials team on their PeopleSoft Asset Management and General Ledger applications and assisted LCG’s human resources department by implementing PeopleSoft HCM self-service, consolidating benefits into one system and bringing their outsourced payroll in-house into PeopleSoft Payroll.

Massachusetts Port Authority “Massport”

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) owns and operates an integrated network of world-class transportation entities within the New England area, including the Boston Logan International Airport, Worcester Regional Airport and public terminals in the Port of Boston.  As a self-sustaining public authority with no state tax dollars used to fund operations or facility improvements, Massport’s facilities generate more than $8 billion annually.
 
In September of 2013, Massport was struggling with their recently completed PeopleSoft Financials 9.1 upgrade; unable to generate reports critical to supporting their operations and measuring performance.  These reports had not been executed successfully since the upgrade.
 
MIPRO Consulting was retained by Massport to assist them with identifying the errors preventing the successful completion of the reports along with debugging & validating the data on the report.  It was eventually determined that there were numerous errors associated with the chart of accounts re-design undertaken as part of the upgrade.  MIPRO worked directly with Massport to resolve the deficiencies by modifying the reports, adjusting trees to work with the newly re-defined chartfields and to then reconcile the reports under the newly designed COA.
 
Working with the Massport team, MIPRO helped to redesign existing reports to better address the reporting needs of the accounting department and resolved bottlenecks with producing GL reports for the CFO.  During the process, MIPRO provided training for their accounting staff on how to use PeopleSoft’s query tool as well as providing their staff with tools to allow proper coding of data from new chartfields.

MESSA

Based in East Lansing, Mich., MESSA has serviced the health care needs of Michigan’s pubic school employees for nearly 50 years.  With 300 employees statewide, the company places a strong emphasis on member education, wellness and preventive care through an efficient business model and outstanding customer service.
 
In an effort to streamline their ability to integrate employee benefit and HR change data across platforms, MESSA tapped MIPRO Consulting for a PeopleSoft Benefits Administration implementation.  MIPRO’s professionals designed, documented, created and tested a ben admin module that addressed the project goals established by MESSA:
  • Automate the process to import MESSA benefit and HR change data into PeopleSoft
  • Ability to distinguish weekly changes from Open Enrollment data
  • User-driven online transaction capability (self-service)
  • The ability to establish parameters on a school-by-school basis.
 
The implementation project, along with the technical work and customizations delivered by MIPRO, created a seamless path for MESSA employee benefit transactions.

North Shore Long Island Jewish Health Services

The North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System was founded in 1997 creating a healthcare network that includes hospitals, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, a home care network, a hospice network, and progressive care centers offering a range of outpatient services.
 
Headquartered in Great Neck, New York, North Shore-LIJ is the largest integrated health system in New York State.  Its service area encompasses more than 7 million people throughout New York City and Long Island. With more than 43,000 employees, North Shore-LIJ is the largest employer on Long Island, and the ninth largest employer in New York City.
 
Over the years MIPRO has done multiple engagements for North Shore, all related to their PeopleSoft HCM solution.  Most recently MIPRO did an HR upgrade.

Novation

Novation LLC was established in 1998 through the consolidation of the supply programs of national health care alliances VHA and University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC). As the industry’s largest contracting services company, Novation serves the purchasing needs of nearly 25,000 VHA and UHC member organizations and more than 15,000 Provista customers.  Novation delivers unmatched supply savings and value through its extensive suite of contracting services, including contract development and management, supply chain performance tools and data and supply industry advocacy.
 
Many of Novation’s clients are hospital systems that use PeopleSoft financials and procurement products.  Novation’s spend management / business intelligence tools rely on data resident in the client’s PeopleSoft systems.  MIPRO, recognized by Novation for their PeopleSoft SCM expertise, was selected as Novation’s expert to develop and automated process to extract data from Novation clients PeopleSoft systems.

Headquartered in Las Vegas, NV Energy has served citizens in northern Nevada for over 150 years, and southern Nevada since 1906.  Nevada Power, Sierra Pacific Power and Sierra Pacific Resources merged in July 1999 to create one of the fastest growing energy companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange.  In 2008, both subsidiaries began doing business as NV Energy signaling their commitment to serving Nevada’s energy needs.  They serve Las Vegas, Reno-Sparks, Henderson, and Elko – amongst many other communities.  They also provide natural gas to more than 145,000 citizens in the Reno-Sparks area.
 
With our diverse experience in the Utilities Industry, MIPRO Consulting was the preferred choice as NV Energy shopped for an Implementation Partner for their eSettlements initiative.  Providing both project management & technical resources, MIPRO’s contributions to this successful project were both broad in scope and cutting edge in nature.

Onondaga County

The County of Onondaga is located in the central New York region, spanning a land area of 793.5 square miles, & is approximately 35 miles in length and 30 miles in width. The County is governed under a home rule charter, which provides for the separation of the executive and legislative functions.  The 2010 U.S. Census showed a population of 467,026 for Onondaga County, which included a population of 145,170 for the City of Syracuse.  The City of Syracuse is situated in the approximate center of the County and serves as the focus for commercial and business activities.   
 
The County, in conjunction with its underlying units, is responsible for providing police, fire, sanitation and water services, as well as the maintenance of streets, parks and recreational facilities.
 
MIPRO Consulting was initially engaged to test Onondaga’s HCM system.  Based on those successes, MIPRO was selected to provide a resource to the PMO office to manage the project.

San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD)

SDUSD serves nearly 132,000 students in pre-school through grade 12 and is the second largest district in California.  The district includes more than 225 educational facilities with 15,924 full-time equivalent employees.  More than 6,600 teachers are in classrooms at the district’s various educational facilities, which include 107 traditional elementary schools, 11 K-8 schools, 24 traditional middle schools, 28 high schools, 45 charter schools, and 13 atypical/alternative schools.
 
MIPRO led the implementation and deployment of PeopleSoft 9.1 Project Costing for the district.  The approach started with a workshop designed to provide a solid project platform for the combined MIPRO/SDUSD team.   MIPRO worked to help SDUSD identify and adopt best practices for project costing activities and converted to those practices into PeopleSoft business processes.  In addition, MIPRO let the testing, training, and roll-out efforts.

Senco Products

If you’ve got a screw loose, Senco Brands has got the fastener. The company makes air-powered, battery-powered, and gas-powered nailers, staplers, and screw guns, as well as the nails, staples, screws, and other specialty fasteners that those devices use. Its products are sold in more than 40 countries by major retailers and building materials dealers, including Fastenal, Home Depot, and Lowe’s. Senco serves professional builders, including contractors, remodelers, furniture makers, and manufacturers of pallets and packaging.
 
Senco was in need of both technical and functional expertise to help review and optimize the configuration of their PeopleSoft SCM products.  The MIPRO team engaged with SENCO to understand how they were currently using their PeopleSoft applications and then identified opportunities to refine and or expand their use of the product to drive further operational efficiency.

Soaring Eagle

The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is a casino, hotel and entertainment venue owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, located just outside of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. It is considered to be the largest casino in the Midwest.
 
MIPRO implemented PeopleSoft Inventory and did some year end optimization for Soaring Eagle.

State of Michigan

In the later part of 2010 the State of Michigan awarded MIPRO along with a handful of vendors a contract to source Business Intelligence (BI) professional services to support the State’s data warehouse and related development.
 
The data warehouse is maintained and hosted by the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) and currently supports multiple agencies, including the Michigan Department of Community Health (DCH), the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS), the Michigan Department of Treasury (Treasury), the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth (DELEG), and the State Courts Administrative Office (SCAO).
 
In 2011 MIPRO began providing BI professional services to the State of Michigan.

Today, Komen has invested more than $2.5 billion to help end breast cancer through groundbreaking research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 30 countries worldwide.
 
Komen engaged MIPRO Consulting to conduct a PeopleSoft upgrade of their Financials application to PeopleSoft 9.2. Through this upgrade, Komen looked to eliminate customizations that were being utilized and take advantage of new functionality offered by 9.2.

MIPRO led Teradata’s transition from ADP to PeopleSoft 9.0 North American Payroll and ePay (employee self-service).  MIPRO worked with Teradata to complete fit gaps, define business processes, complete configuration, complete development of interfaces to external vendors and internal systems, validate and complete reports, complete training documentation and complete the final implementation.  Because the Teradata was already using PeopleSoft HR and PeopleSoft Benefits, it was important to validate and make updates to existing configuration and business processes.

Tower Automotive

Tower Automotive has made body structures, suspension components and modules for nearly every major automotive manufacturer in the world, including: BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, Isuzu, Mazda, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo. Their 12,000 employees are located in 60 facilities in four continents.
 
MIPRO performed an upgrade assessment and optimization for Tower’s PeopleSoft 8.9 HCM application, including Human Resources, Benefits, Manager Self Service, Employee Self Service, and the Person Model.
 
MIPRO described and demonstrated the new functionality, did a version comparison as well as a technical assessment.  Deliverables included a project plan, hours estimate, upgrade scope document, technical architecture diagram, and a proposed technical environment strategy.

University of Texas, Southwest Medical Center (UTSWMC)

UTSWMC ranks among the top academic medical centers in the world.   Each year, the facility trains nearly 4,600 medical, graduate and allied health students.  They have approximately 11,400 employees and an annual operating budget of $1.79 billion.  UTSWMC physicians provide patients with the highest quality of care throughout the medical centers university hospitals, clinics, and affiliated hospitals.
 
UTSWMC chose MIPRO to lead their implementation of PeopleSoft 9.1 Maintenance Management and Project Costing.  Despite working with another vendor on their upgrade, UTSWMC recognized MIPRO’s unrivaled expertise with PeopleSoft ALM and chose them to lead that effort.  As the engagement progressed, UTSWMC recognized the depth of MIPRO’s PeopleSoft expertise and significantly increased MIPRO’s responsibility in the areas of PeopleSoft Asset Management, Inventory, Purchasing and related reporting.

U.S.  Senate

When the U.S. Senate began their formal process to request bids from qualified vendors seventeen teams came together to each bid for the right to implement PeopleSoft 9.1 HCM for the Senate.  It came down to two teams left battling for the Senate’s endorsement in oral presentations, Deloitte/Oracle and MIPRO/Bart/IBM.  In the end the latter team won.
 
“Because payroll and benefits impact all employees, ensuring a successful implementation on the first try is absolutely critical.  Our long term PeopleSoft experience, which includes having been the first company to deploy PeopleSoft 9.0 for a federal agency, together with our partners’ expertise, makes us uniquely qualified to see this project through to a highly successful completion,” said Jesus Medrano, B&A Executive Vice-President and Officer-in-Charge for the Senate contract.
 
The implementation replaced the U.S. Senate’s payroll, benefits, human resources, and pension mainframe systems with PeopleSoft HCM 9.1.  The effort also included the implementation of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Planning and Budgeting module.  The system was implemented as vanilla as possible, but as with most implementations some customization were necessary.  MIPRO functional analysts drove the design efforts for approved customizations.  MIPRO also prepared the training documentation for the functional users of the system while technical documents were produced by the developers and administrators.  Currently MIPRO, in conjunction with B&A, provide operations and maintenance support to the Senate Payroll System, Human Resources and Benefits.  In addition, the Affordable Care Act was enacted near the end of the project and MIPRO worked with Senate to ensure the system supports all of the ACA requirements.
